The Joy Companies, Inc. Welcomes a New Generation

HYATTSVILLE, MD (October 18, 2007) – The Joy Companies, Inc. a Holding Company comprised of B. Frank Joy, LLC and Carapace, LLC, ended 2007 with a bittersweet leadership transition. Just prior to his death in November, Thomas Leigh Joy, age 82, saw the continuation of his family legacy as he transferred his seat on the board to his grandson and fourth generation Joy, Kevin M. Joy. At their annual board meeting, Thomas Leigh Joy also stepped down from the chair position and his son and Kevin’s father, Ken Joy, became Chairman of the Board.

Ken Joy, says, “It was very moving. It meant so much to all of us that my father lived to see his grandson join the board.” Though Thomas Leigh Joy had retired in 1985, he remained an active member of the board through the years.

The Joy Companies, Inc’s division of B. Frank Joy, LLC continues to work with contractors, utilities, and municipalities, serving the full range of design, construction and maintenance of underground infrastructure. FiberNet is the company’s wholly owned fiber optic subsidiary. B. Frank Joy is a regional installer of LMK, Inc.’s T-Liner® sewer pipe repair system. B.
